5 Days Off
Every year when you can feel that spring is about to show her face in Amsterdam, it’s time for 5 Days Off!
5 Days Off is, as you might get from the name, a 5 day long festival in Amsterdam, hosting some of the best new electronic music acts from the moment. Not only does the festival have great concerts in the coolest locations such as De Balie, Paradiso and Melkweg, but it also host some interesting expositions.
In the past years great names have come to town to show their tricks and every year the line up is getting better and better. Mono Lake, Daft Punk, The Gaslamp Killer, Jeff Mills and James Holden have been playing at 5 Days Off and the program for 2013 looks very tasty as well. One of the greater names that will be playing is Darkside (Nicolas Jaar & Dave Harrington). These two skilled producers and live musicians will probably know how to get you even higher than you might already be. Speedy J, one of Dutch better Techno producers will once again show what he can do, bringing a 7 hour long set, including guest artists, to Melkweg on Thursday night.
Tickets for the festival are not that expesive. A pass for all of the 5 days cost around 80,- euro’s, but tickets for single events will also be available.
