Amsterdam Bans Truffles From Tourist Shops
Since the ban of magic mushrooms in the Netherlands in 2008, magic truffles have been getting more and more popular amongst locals but also tourists. Many smartshops have been selling them for years, but nowadays you are able to buy them in almost any tourist shop as well. This might be nice for tourists looking for a quick fix, but it is not such a good thing in general, as most of those shops don’t even realize what they are selling to their random customers.
Magic truffles are great of course, but it is good to have some proper info about what they do and how they should be consumed safe. In the past few years there have been a few accidents with tourists that where tripping on magic truffles and the government of Amsterdam has had enough of it. This week it has been decided that the magic truffles can only be sold in official smartshops.
Of course it is still possible to buy magic truffles online, but any shop that is not an official smartshop and is still selling truffles, will be fined severely.
If you are planning a trip to Amsterdam and are looking for a place to buy magic truffles, try finding a decent smartshop and get yourself informed. Some good info on what magic truffles are and how they work can be found here.
