Here are a few tips about coffeeshop visits:
- You have to be 18 years of age to enter a coffeeshops so make sure to bring your ID card, as you might not be able to enter without it.
- Cash money is advised, as not at every coffeeshop you will be able to pay by card.
- You can most probably speak english to most budtender, and they are usually very helpful.
- Don’t bring you own drinks. Alcohol is not permitted in any coffeeshop in the Netherlands.
- Don’t bring any drugs. In coffeeshops it is only allowed to smoke cannabis. Any coffeeshops will surely throw you out if you have any other drugs on you. When the police catches somebody with any drugs inside a coffeeshop, the establishment will be closed down. You don’t want to be the person responsible for this.
- Be careful with edibles. Ingesting cannabis trough edibles can be a totally different experience than smoking it. It usually also takes a lot longer before you feel any effects, so start with a little and wait for at least an hour and a half before even thinking about upping your dosage.
- Don’t just light up a joint in the coffeeshop if you are not sure it is allowed. If you don’t see anybody else smoking, ask the budtender if it is allowed.
- You can bring your own pipe or vaporizer if you don’t like to roll up. Some coffeeshops can borrow you a nice vaporizer. Just ask at the bar.
